Cranberry, Apple and Pear Sauce
- 1 large apples ripe and sweet, peeled
- 2 large pears ripe, peeled
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup cranberries fresh or frozen, thawed
- 1 tablespoon honey or sugar
- 1 teaspoon ginger freshly minced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 each cinnamon sticks 4 inches
- Grate pears and apple into a large bowl, using the large holes of a box grater without seeds, place the mixture into a medium sauce pan.
- Stir in water, cranberries, honey(sugar), ginger, salt and cinnamon stick; bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer, stirring often, until the pears break down and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 40 minutes.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
