Basic Red Barbecue Sauce
- 1 6-ounce can tomato paste
- 13 cup white corn syrup
- 13 cup cider vinegar
- 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper (or to taste)
- Salt to taste
- Combine tomato paste, corn syrup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce.
- Add Cayenne pepper to taste and additional salt if desired.
- Use sauce uncooked or simmer briefly, about 10 minutes, to mellow flavors before using.
