Distilled Homemade Vanilla

  1. Gather and clean your jars I used twelve 4 ounce bottles.
  2. Cut your vanilla beans into 3 pieces each, one entire bean (or 3 pieces) should fit into each jar or bottle youre using.
  3. Put your cut beans into jars (you can also slice them open lengthwise, but its not required.)
  4. Measure 1/2 Cups of vodka per jar and using a funnel, fill each jar pouring the vodka in over the vanilla beans.
  5. Cap the jars and set them on a sunny windowsill for 3-4 months to distill.
  6. When it reaches a nice amber color its ready to use ... and its delicious!
