Apple Dumplings
- 1 can crescent rolls (makes 8 rolls)
- 1 granny smith apple
- 1/2 stick butter (melted)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2/3 cup mountain dew
- Preheat oven to 350
- Core & peel apple.
- Cut into 8 wedges
- Roll each apple wedge in crescent dough, sealing edges.
- Place in 8x8 ungreased cake pan
- In small bowl, combine butter, sugar and cinnamon
- Spoon sugar mixture over dumplings
- Pour mountain dew on top of dumplings (gently, to not wash off sugar)
- Bake on middle rack, uncovered, for 45 minutes
- Let sit for 5 minutes before serving
- * I use the sugary liquid on bottom of pan to top each dumpling
- * I serve my dumplings warm with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream!
