Deep Dish Taco Squares Recipe

  1. I make a recipe of biscuit dough: 2 c. flour, 3 tsp.
  2. baking pwdr, 1/2 tsp.
  3. salt, 1/4 c. shortening, and 3/4 c. lowfat milk.
  4. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
  5. Brown beef, add in onion, saute/fry, add in taco seasoning and water.
  6. Make up biscuit dough.
  7. Pat into a greased 9x13 inch pan.
  8. Pressing dough 1/2 inch up sides, layer beef, minced tomatoes, green pepper.
  9. Mix mayonnaise and lowfat sour cream, pour over top and sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  10. Bake till edges are light brown, 25-30 min.
  11. Serves 6.
  12. I omit peppers and use fresh green chilies.
  13. My family doesn't like spicy foods or possibly green pepper!
