Chicken Casserole
- 1 large hen, cooked and cut into small pieces
- 1 stick margarine
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. chopped celery
- 1 c. chopped green pepper
- 5 oz. noodles
- 1 c. drained mushrooms or 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 2 cans cream of chicken soup
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 lb. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
- Melt margarine in skillet. Add onion, celery and green pepper. Saute until tender. Add mushrooms 3 minutes before removing from heat.
- Place cut up chicken in large bowl.
- Put lemon juice over it. Stir.
- Add sauteed vegetables.
- Heat chicken soup.
- Stir into chicken (don't boil) the Worcestershire sauce.
- Combine soup mixture and fold in grated cheese.
- Cook noodles. Add to other ingredients.
- Makes 2 large casseroles.
- If casseroles are in refrigerator before baking, bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour.
- If baking immediately, bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
- If frozen, thaw 2 to 3 hours; bake 1 hour.
