- 4 lb 6 cheese Italian shredded cheese
- 2 bags of parmasean cheess3
- 1 Red pepper flakes to taste as well as salt fresh basil oregano parsley sage and rosemary
- 6 eggs
- 2 large Containers of whole milk ricotta cheese this is a sinfully decadent recipe made to feed a lot of people
- 5 tbsp high quality butter or clarified butter
- 4 tbsp All purpose flour
- 4 cup heavy cream
- 2 tsp sea or kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 2 large bags of shredded mozzarella cheese.
- 1 quart heavy whipping cream all the milk/ cream for this can come out of that quart
- Boil lasagna noodles until they are almost done take them out a minute or two early so your pasta doesn't turn to mush from all the liquid.
- The sauce is simple enough brown the meats with onions and garlic feel free to add mushrooms or sun dried tomatoes artichoke hearts etc
- Drain grease from meat and pat with paper towels to get off extra grease onions should be translucent and garlic cloves softish
- Combine meats and veggies and tomato paste sauce and diced and whole peeled and unseeded tomatoes
- Cheese layer is special you must first make a basic bechamel sauce for that melt butter put in flour 4 cups heavy cream 2 teaspoons of kosher or sea salt and nutmeg.
- Also.
- You can add black pepper fresh ground to taste.
- Combine ricotta eggs more heavy cream 1 package of 6 cheese Italian blend Italian herbs fresh basil 1 bag of parmesan cheese mix thoroughly
- Combine bechamel sauce with ricotta cheese mix well until it's vs creamy dreamy and amazing.
- Please feel free to add sundries tomatoes etc I tend to love to experiment.
- Layer noodles meat sauce and cheese layers until you run out of stuff completely.
- On last layer cover with bag of mozzarella bag of 6 cheese Italian blend and a bag of parmesan.
- Heat oven to around 375 cover within tinfoil and bake covered for about an hour keep a watch on it.
- When it's good and bubbly hot take off foil and melt cheese for approximately 10 minutes
- This recipe makes enough to fill two giant deep tin catering pans like you would get at Costco it is made for feeding a lot of people.
- Also please be aware this can be made vegetarian by using spinach zucchini and eggplant instead of meat.
- You can make this healthy by using skim milk instead of cream ground turkey and low sodium Italian sausage as well as no salt added tomatoes or even fresh tomatoes.
- It is a grand undertaking but well worth it.
- It is creamy and rich and utterly affordable if you have to take a dish to a potluck or just a nice gathering or team dinner.
