Welcome Home Vegetable Barley Soup Recipe

  1. Put ribs, tomatoes, salt, bay leaves and 1 qt water into large kettle.
  2. Cover and bring to boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer 2 hrs, covered.
  4. Add in vegetables, onion, barley, herbs and garlic.
  5. Simmer, covered, one hour or possibly till vegetables are tender.
  6. Remove ribs, ?????
  7. meat and return to soup.
  8. Chill several hrs.
  9. Before heating, skim fat from surface.
  10. Heat slowly.
  11. Makes 3 qts.
