Country Fried Steak & Mashed potatoes
- 4 slice cubed steak
- 2 cup flour
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 kosher salt
- 1 black pepper
- 1 onion powder
- 1 garlic powder
- 1 seasoning salt
- 1 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 5 medium russet potatoes
- 2 1/2 tbsp sour cream
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 salt and pepper to taste
- 1 stick butter
- Peel and boil potatoes
- Season one side of steak w/ salt black pepper onion powder and garlic powder and other side sprinkle seasoning salt
- Make a dredge station w/ flour and dash of salt and pepper in one dish and buttermilk in another dish
- Dredge steak in flour then buttermilk then flour again
- When oil is nice and hot put steak in pot and fry 4 minutes flip fry until other side is golden brown
- For gravy keep about 2 tablespoons of drippings and add 2 tablespoons of flour cook for a min or 2 then add a cup and a half if milk cook til nice and thicken remove from heat
- Drain potatoes when fork tender
- Add butter and mash them
- Add sour cream and milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Stir and mash to preferred consistency
