Beef, Watercress And Roquefort Burgers Recipe
- 1/3 c. bulgur
- 3/4 lb lean grnd beef
- 1/2 c. coarsely minced watercress leaves
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly grnd black pepper
- 3 Tbsp. crumbled roquefort cheese
- 4 x onion buns split and toasted watercress sprigs for garnish
- Roquefort cheese, peppery watercress and beef is quite simply a fabulous combination of flavors.
- The bulgur keeps these burgers especially moist.
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine bulgur with 1/2 c. hot water; let stand for 30 min, or possibly till the bulgur is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
- Prepare a grill or possibly preheat the broiler.
- Add in beef, watercress, salt and pepper to the plumped bulgur and mix thoroughly but lightly.
- Shape the mix into eight 1/3-inch-thick patties.
- Sandwich cheese between the patties to create four stuffed burgers.
- Grill or possibly broil the patties on a lightly oiled rack till browned and cooked through, about 5 min per side.
- Place on buns and garnish with watercress sprigs.
