Simmered Taro in Rich Oyster Sauce

  1. Peel the taro and lotus root.
  2. Slice the lotus root into 5 mm slices.
  3. Combine the taro, lotus root and the ingredients marked in a pan and simmer over medium heat until soft.
  4. If you are using a pressure cooker, turn the heat off 3 minutes after the pin drops.
  5. Leave it to cool.
  6. The flavors will meld as it cools.
  7. Before serving, reheat and simmer it until the liquid evaporates and everything melds.
  8. Then you're done.
