Brookies (fudgy brownie cookies)
- 1 box brownie mix, any variety
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- Appx. 30 Hershey's Kisses, any variety (but the Hugs version looks especially nice on these)
- Heat oven to 350F (180C).
- In a large bowl, stir together brownie mix, egg, oil and water until batter forms a large ball and pulls away from sides of bowl.
- (Batter will be very thick.)
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
- DO NOT flatten balls.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until just set in center.
- Do not overbake.
- Cool 5 minutes on cookie sheet before transferring to cookie platter.
- Cool 5 minutes more, then sift powdered sugar over tops of cookies.
- Lightly place an unwrapped Hershey's Kiss in center of cookie.
- Do not press down.
- Remaining heat from cookie will melt Kiss just enough to make it stick to cookie without losing its shape.
