Delicious Japanese-Style Croquettes
- 3 Potatoes
- 1/2 Finely chopped onions
- 130 grams Ground mixed pork and beef
- 1 dash less than a tablespoon Sugar
- 1/2 tbsp Mirin
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 pinch Salt and pepper, ground paper
- 1 tbsp Butter (or margarine) - your choice
- 1 Batter (flour, panko)
- Boil the potatoes.
- After boiling, drain, and let cool to evaporate the water.
- I usually cook it in the rice cooker to cook.
- Peel the potato skins, and wrap them foil.
- This way, you don't have to evaporate the water.
- Mash the potatoes while they are hot, mix in butter, and coat.
- You don't have to add butter if you hate the smell.
- Heat a pan with oil, and saute the onions, making sure not to burn them.
- Add in the ground beef and pork, and the seasoning, and boil while taking care not to burn it.
- Add the ingredients from Step 3 while the potatoes are still hot, and mix.
- I always stick it in the fridge to cool.
- Mold the croquettes (into any shape you like), cover with the batter, and fry in oil.
- Before frying.
- After frying.
