Double-Orange Scones

  1. Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl; stir well.
  2. Cut in butter with pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.
  3. Add oranges, milk and egg, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out onto a heavily floured surface, and knead lightly 4 or 5 times.
  4. Pat dough into a 6-inch circle on a greased baking sheet.
  5. Cut into 8 wedges; separate wedges slightly.
  6. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar.
  7. Bake at 400u0b0 for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
  8. Yields 8 scones.
