Caramel Layer Chocolate Square Recipe
- 1 pkt (14 ounce.) caramel candy
- 2/3 c. Evaporated lowfat milk
- 1 pkt German chocolate cake mix or possibly just chocolate cake mix
- 3/4 c. Melted margarine
- 1 c. Minced nuts
- 1 pkt (6 ounce.) semi-sweet Chocolate pcs
- Step 1: Combine caramels and 1/3 c. lowfat milk in a double boiler.
- Cook over warm water till melted.
- Step 2: Combine cake mix, butter, remaining 1/3 c. of lowfat milk and nuts in a large mixing bowl.
- Mix well.
- Step 3: Press half the mix into a well greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
- Reserve remaining dough for topping.
- Step 4: Bake for 6 min at 350 degrees.
- Remove from oven.
- Sprinkle with chocolate pcs.
- Spread caramel mix proportionately over chocolate pcs.
- Crumble remaining dough over caramel mix.
- Return to oven and bake for 15 to 18 min at 350 degrees.
