Tres Leches Recipe
- 1 box Duncan Hines golden brown butter recipe cake mix
- 2 (12 ounce.) cans evaporated lowfat milk
- 1 can condensed lowfat milk
- 16 ounce. light cream
- 3 egg whites
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. Karo syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Follow instructions for cake mix.
- Pour batter into large Pyrex or possibly 9x13 inch cake pan.
- Bake cake at 350 degrees for 35 min or possibly till done.
- Remove from the oven and let cold in the pan.
- In a bowl, mix the evaporated lowfat milk, condensed lowfat milk and light cream.
- Pierce the cake with a fork so which it will absorb the lowfat milk mix.
- Pour the lowfat milk mix proportionately over the cake.
- MERINGUE: In a saucepan, heat the Karo syrup and sugar.
- Beat the egg whites till foamy.
- Continue beating as you slowly pour in the hot syrup.
- Beat till meringue reaches a thick consistency.
- Add in 1 tsp.
- vanilla.
- Cover cake with meringue and chill.
