Red Wine Sauce for Steak
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon shallot, minced
- 12 cup dry red wine
- 12 cup beef gravy or 12 cup beef gravy
- Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium high heat.
- Add the shallots and cook briefly.
- Add the red wine and cook 30 seconds until reduced somewhat.
- Add the brown gravy or beef gravy and reduce by 1/3.
- Once boiling remove from heat and stir in remaining 2 tablespoons butter.
