Momma's New England clam chowder
- 51 oz can of sea watch chopped clams
- 4 slice bacon
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1 cup diced celery
- 3 tbsp flour
- 3 cup peeled and diced potato
- 1/2 quart heavy cream
- 3 tbsp butter
- Drain clams and save the juice
- Saute bacon
- Remove bacon and leave the bacon grease in the pan
- Add butter to bacon grease
- Saute onion and celery
- Slowly add flour stirring constantly for 3 minutes
- Add potatoes and clam juice simmer until potatoes are tender
- Add clams and cream
- Simmer until hot
- Add salt and pepper
