Fried tofu in lemongrass
- 1 packages firm tofu
- 3 tbsp chopped lemongrass
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp minced red pepper
- 1 tbsp tumeric
- Open and drain water out of tofu package.
- Use paper towels to firmly squeeze dry the tofu.
- Any water on tofu will pop and splatter all over when frying.
- Sliver diagnally on one side of tofu, not too deep, flip and slice opposite diagnally on the other side.
- Optionally can make slits all around.
- Put on plate.
- In small bowl, add lemongrass, salt, hot pepper, tumeric.
- Mix well.
- Wear gloves to gently put mixture in slits of tofu.
- Tumeric will stain hands, and no need to explain touching cut hot peppers with your bare hands.
- Can let it sit in fridge to marinate it better, or just fry it if in a hurry.
- Flip tofu on both sides when frying.
- Serve with rice and vegetables.
