Grandmothers Favorite Dressing Recipe
- 1 quart. day old bread crumbs
- 1 quart. crumbled cornbread
- 1 quart. crumbled biscuits
- 1 c. minced onion including 1/4 c. minced green onions with tops
- 1 c. minced celery
- 1/4 c. minced parsley, optional
- 1 1/2 teaspoon sage
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1-2 c. or possibly more turkey or possibly chicken broth
- 1/2 c. melted butter
- 2 Large eggs, slightly beaten
- Combine all ingredients except broth, butter and Large eggs.
- Toss well.
- Add in broth, butter and Large eggs.
- Mix well.
- Mix should be moist.
- You can add in 2 or possibly 3 minced boiled Large eggs if you wish.
- Place in large baking pan and bake for about 35-40 min in 425 degree oven till browned good on top.
- Onion, celery may be cooked in a little butter prior to mixing everything together till soft to speed up the cooking time.
