Chocolate Candy Crack
- 1 box Saltine Crackers
- 1 1/2 stick butter
- 3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 cup Dark or semi sweet chocolate chips
- Preheat oven 350
- Spray Pam on 15x19 jelly roll pan
- Place crackers salt side down in pan.
- Covering in single layer.
- Trim pieces as needed to fill in on side.
- Melt butter and sugar together over medium heat.
- Stir often.
- When begins to boil add vanilla.
- Continue to stir.
- Lower heat and stir until it becomes Carmel like texture.
- Total time on heat 7-10 minutes.
- Pour and spread over crackers.
- Try to keep crackers flat and single layer during this process.
- Off set spatula/spreader best to use for this.
- Sprinkle salt over carmel(if desired)
- Take out and let set for a couple minutes.
- Put in oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
- It won't look pretty by the way!

- Sprinkle chocolate chips all over.
- Put in oven for a minute.
- Remove and spread evenly over top of Carmel.
- At this point, quickly add nuts, sprinkles or whatever else you choose...on top of chocolate.
- Place aluminum or parchment on top and press down lightly.
- Place in fridge for a couple of hours.
- Remove when chilled and ready to crack.
- Bend pan by corners to get candy to release from pan.
- Break or cut into pieces.
- Place in air tight container and refrigerate.
