Goldenrod Eggs

  1. Cut eggs in half; remove yolks and set aside.
  2. Chop egg white; set aside.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt butter.
  4. Stir in the flour, salt and pepper until smooth.
  5. Gradually stir in milk.
  6. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until thickened.
  7. Stir in egg whites; heat through.
  8. Pour over toast.
  9. Force egg yolks through a sieve to break into small pieces; sprinkle over sauce.
