Scalloped potatoes

  1. In a sauce pan, cook onion in butter till tender.
  2. Stir in flour and salt.
  3. Add milk all at once.
  4. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Mix in 3/4 cup of cheese.
  7. Place half the sliced potatoes in a greased 1 quart dish.
  8. Cover with half the sauce.
  9. Repeat layers.
  10. Top with remaining 1/4 cup of cheese.
  11. Bake covered at 350F for 35 minutes.
  12. Uncover and bake 30 minutes more or till potatoes are tender.
  13. Let stand 5 minutes.
  14. Serves 4.
  15. (If you don?t want to use the cheese and just have plain scalloped potatoes, omit the cheese and increase the salt to 1/2 tsp.
  16. If you love it cheesy and extra cheese!
