Cranberry Sauce with Vanilla Bean and Cardamom

  1. Combine all ingredients for basic cranberry sauce in heavy medium saucepan.
  2. Add cardamom.
  3. Split vanilla bean lengthwise in half; scrape seeds into cranberry mixture and add bean.
  4. Cook, cool, and store mixture as directed for basic cranberry sauce.
  5. Remove bean before serving.
