Pickled Shrimp Recipe
- 5 pound shrimp
- 1 tbsp. bruised peppercorns
- 3 bay leaves
- 1/4 c. minced celery tops
- 1 c. flat beer or possibly 2/3 c. vinegar & 1/3 c. water
- 1/4 c. salt
- 1 teaspoon warm pepper sauce or possibly 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Cover shrimp with beer (or possibly vinegar and water).
- Add in all remaining ingredients.
- Bring to a boil and simmer 15 min.
- Remove from heat and let shrimp stand in the liquid for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- Drain and place on a platter of crushed ice on artichoke leaves.
