Holiday Cake

  1. Cream together 1 1/2 sticks butter, sugar, cream cheese, and almond extract.
  2. Mix well.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time and mix well after each addition.
  4. Add baking powder and flour, mixing well.
  5. Drain the cherries and chop in half and set aside 8 halves to decorate the top of the cake.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix a small amount of flour with the cherries and fold into the cake mixture being careful not to crush.
  7. Add the nuts,
  8. Pour the entire mixture into a 10-inch bundt pan and bake at 350F for 45 minutes - 1 hour.
  9. Take the cake out of the oven and immediately turn upside down on a dish.
  10. After the cake has cooled, glaze the top with a mixture of confectioners sugar and water.
  11. Drizzle over the top of the cake allowing it to drip down the sides.
  12. Decorate with cherries and walnuts along the top.
