Deviled Swiss Steak Recipe
- 1/4 c. all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 3 pound round steak, cut 1 1/2" thick
- 1/4 c. veg. oil
- 1/2 c. water + 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 (3 ounce.) can broiled mushroom crowns, liquid removed
- Combine flour, salt, pepper and dry mustard.
- Sprinkle mix over steak and lb.
- into meat with meat mallet.
- In heavy iron skillet, brown steak slowly on both sides in warm oil.
- Add in combined water and Worcestershire sauce to browned meat.
- Cover tightly and cook over very low heat for 1 3/4 to 2 hrs or possibly till tender.
- Serve with mushrooms that have been heated in small amount of butter.
- Garnish with parsley.
