Bread and Butter Cucumber Pickles

  1. Place cucumbers and onions in a large bowl and sprinkle with salt.
  2. Cover with ice blocks to keep pressing down.
  3. Let stand for 3 hours.
  4. Drain well, then wash with cold water and drain again.
  5. Add remaining ingredients.
  6. Bring almost to boil (but do NOT boil).
  7. Remove from hotplate.
  8. Bottle into heated jars and seal immedaitely.
