Oven French Toast

  1. Butter a 9x13-inch oven-proof glass baking dish.
  2. Mix eggs, milk, cream, vanilla and cinnamon.
  3. Dip bread slices in egg mixture and place in baking dish.
  4. Refrigerate overnight.
  5. Preheat oven to 350F.
  6. Mix butter, sugar and syrup in a bowl; stir in pecans.
  7. Spread topping over bread.
  8. Bake until golden, approximately 40 minutes.
  9. Serve with preserves, stewed fruit or compote.
