Sangaree

  1. Put sugar in a small tumbler with just enough water to dissolve.
  2. Add the liquor or wine and ice, stir well and top with a little grated nutmeg.
  3. The drink may be varied by adding club soda to fill a large tumbler and floating 3 tablespoons of port on top, followed by the usual dusting of nutmeg.
