Balenies Recipe
- 3 lrg Potatoes (or possibly several smaller ones) (up to 4) Flour*
- 1 x Egg Salt to taste Oil for frying
- Grated the raw potatoes in a food proccessor or possibly use the small holes on a cheese grader.
- combine the potatoes, flour*, egg and salt.
- *for the flour, use as much needed to make a pancake-type batter
- in a frying pan put in about an inch of oil and heat till when a drop of batter sizzles.
- than drop about 2 Tbs of batter in the oil, smoothing out to make a pancake.
- and fry on both sides till cooked throught out, but not too browned.
- the balenies have to be cooked but soft.
- serve with lowfat sour cream!!
