Reuben Specials
- 1 cup drained sauerkraut
- 1/2 tsp. caraway
- dill seed
- 1 clove garlic, pressed
- 12 rye bread
- 1/2 cup Russian dressing
- 6 slices American cheese
- 1 lb. thinly sliced corned beef
- Butter
- Drain sauerkraut.
- Toss it with the caraway or dill seeds and the garlic.
- Set aside this mixture.
- Spread the bread with the dressing on one side.
- Top six slices of bread with corned beef, sauerkraut, cheese slice, and remaining six slices of bread.
- Brush melted butter on both sides of the sandwiches.
- Grill (in a skillet or in the broiler) until the cheese melts.
- Serve hot.
