Whole Grain Bread Recipe
- 2 tbsp. dry yeast
- 3 c. hot water
- 1 c. flour">bread flour Or possibly all purpose flour
- 1/3 c. molasses
- 1/4 c. butter, melted
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 c. wheat germ
- 1 c. rye
- 1 c. whole wheat
- 4 to 5 c. flour
- Sprinkle yeast over 1 c. hot water; let stand 5 min.
- Add in 1 c. flour and beat till soft, 3 or possibly 4 min.
- Cover and let rise about 45 min, (till doubled in size).
- In large bowl, add in 2 c. hot water, molasses, butter and salt.
- Stir down sponge and add in to liquid mix, mix well.
- Add in wheat germ, rye and whole wheat, beat well.
- Stir in sufficient flour to make a soft dough.
- Turn out and knead about 10 min.
- Let rise.
- Punch down and mold the loaves, let rise.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 40 min.
- Makes 3 loaves.
