Crunchy Oven French Toast Recipe
- 1 loaf French bread
- 3 Large eggs
- 1 c. half and half
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 c. corn flakes (crushed to 2 c.)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Cut French bread into 1 1/4 inch slices.
- Combine Large eggs and half and half, sugar, vanilla and salt in a bowl and mix well.
- Place corn flakes and cinnamon in a shallow dish.
- Dip bread slices into egg mix, then into bread crumbs.
- Place on a greased cookie sheet; cover and freeze for 1 to 2 hrs, longer if you like.
- When ready to serve, preheat oven to 425 degrees and bake for 15-20 min.
- Garnish with sliced strawberries, bananas, warm maple syrup and whipped cream or possibly any of your favorites.
- Great for a brunch setting.
