Caramel Apple Pie 2 Recipe

  1. FILLING - In saucepan, combine caramel topping, pecans, cornstarch, sugar & butter; cook over medium to low heat till thick.
  2. Prepare crust and crumb topping.
  3. In large bowl, peel, core & slice apples; add in caramel topping, mix well.
  4. Pour into prepared crust, add in crumb topping.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees till apples are done.
  6. PASTRY - Cut shortening into flour & salt till fine particles are formed.
  7. Mix together water, lemon juice & egg white.
  8. Add in a Tbsp.
  9. at a time to flour mix till dough is formed & almost cleans side of bowl.
  10. Turn out on a floured pastry cloth & roll to fit a 10" deep dish pie pan.
  11. Place crust into pie pan, trim & flute edges.
  12. Fill with filling & bake as direct.
  13. CRUST TOPPING - Cut ingredients together till pea size crumbs.
  14. Sprinkle over top of pie.
