Vegan Cabbage With Peas
- 1 teaspoon cumin seed
- 12 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 12 cups green peas, frozen
- 2 green chili peppers (optional)
- 6 cups cabbage, shredded
- 14 teaspoon turmeric
- 14 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
- Heat the oil on medium-high heat.
- To see if it is ready, toss in one cumin seed.
- If the seed cracks right away the oil is hot enough.
- Add the cumin and mustard seeds, fry for about a minute.
- Add the peas and chills and fry for another minute or two.
- Add the cabbage, turmeric, cayenne and salt.
- Mix thoroughly so that every piece of cabbage is coated with the spice mixture.
- Cover the pan, turn the heat to medium-low and allow to simmer for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat, stir lemon juice and cilantro through.
- Serve.
