Amish Starter Muffins Recipe
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. whole wheat or possibly bran flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 c. lowfat milk
- 1 x slightly beaten egg
- 1/2 c. oil
- 1 1/2 c. Amish batter
- 2 tsp undiluted orange juice
- Combine flour, brown sugar, flour and baking soda.
- With spoon make a well (dent) in center of flour mix.
- In the well add in lowfat milk, egg, oil, Amish batter and orange juice.
- Stir with fork till mix is well moistened.
- Don't overmix, batter will be lumpy.
- Spoon in well greased muffin c.. Bake at 375 F 30-35 min.
- Allow to cold in pan 5 min before removing.
