Apple and Gruyere Cheese Crostini
- 1 French baguette
- 1 apple
- lemon juice
- 8 ounces gruyere cheese, shredded
- Preheat oven to Broil.
- Slice the baguette on a bias into very thin slices and lay out on a cooking sheet.
- Slice the apple into very thin slivers and place into a bowl with a few drops of lemon juice to prevent oxidation.
- Place 3-4 slivers of apple on each slice of bread.
- Sprinkle liberally with gruyere cheese and broil until cheese is melted and bubbling.
- Serve warm as an hors d'oeuvre.
