Walnut Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Reserve 14 of the crackers; finely crush remaining crackers.
  3. Melt 1/4 cup (4 Tbsp.)
  4. of the margarine in medium bowl or saucepan.
  5. Add cracker crumbs and walnuts; mix well.
  6. Press 1 cup of the cracker crumb mixture firmly onto bottom of 9-inch pie plate; set remaining crumb mixture aside for later use.
  7. Stand reserved 14 crackers around edge of pie plate.
  8. Melt remaining 2 Tbsp.
  9. margarine in large bowl or saucepan.
  10. Add eggs, corn syrup, sugar and vanilla; beat with wire whisk until well blended.
  11. Stir in remaining crumb mixture; pour into crust.
  12. Bake 20 min.
  13. or until center is set.
  14. Cool completely.
  15. Top with dollops of whipped topping just before serving.
  16. Store leftover pie in refrigerator.
