Moms Squash Dressing Casserole
- 2 pounds Squash, Cooked, Seasoned And Drained
- 1 whole 9x9 Pan Prepared Yellow Cornbread
- 2 cups Milk
- 1 stick Butter
- 1 cup Chopped Onion
- 1 cup Chopped Bell Pepper
- 1 cup Chopped Celery
- 1 clove Garlic (if Desired)
- 1 can (10.75 Oz. Can) Cream Of Chicken Soup
- 2 Tablespoons Rubbed Sage
- Salt And Pepper, to taste
- 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mash squash in a bowl.
- Set aside.
- Crumble prepared cornbread into milk and allow to soak.
- Saute in butter the onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic until onion is translucent and no longer hot.
- Mix vegetables with cornbread and milk mixture, squash, soup, sage, and salt and pepper to taste.
- Place in a greased casserole and top with cheese.
- Bake for one hour.
