Vickys Sweet Garlic Chicken, Gluten, Dairy, Egg & Soy-Free
- 4 skinless chicken breasts
- 200 grams soft brown sugar
- 160 ml apple cider vinegar
- 60 ml 'Sprite' - check my homemade recipe listed!
- 3 tbsp finely chopped garlic
- 2 tbsp my soy-free soy sauce, recipe also on my profile
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 red pepper flakes to taste
- Ready a crockpot, slowcooker, or preheat your oven on it's lowest setting
- Put the chicken in a casserole dish / crockpot etc
- Mix together the sugar, vinegar, Sprite, garlic and soy
- Pour over the chicken, cover and cook for 6 - 8 hours on low
- When the time is up, remove the chicken and keep warm on plates in the oven
- Mix the cornstarch & water together then add to the sauce
- Bring the sauce to boil and let it reduce down into a glaze
- Remove it from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes then pour over the chicken and top with a sprinkling of red pepper flakes
- Great served over rice or noodles
