Pistachio Bars

  1. preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. In a mixer at medium speed, beat butter and 3/4 cup sugar until fluffy.
  3. At low speed gradually beat in flour.
  4. Press evenly in bottom of ungreased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
  5. Sprinkle with pistachio nuts.
  6. Press lightly into dough.
  7. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar.
  8. Bake 45 - 60 minutes (mine only needed 45) until golden.
  9. Cut into bars while still hot.
  10. Cool pan on wire rack.
