Chocolate Malt Cake
- 3/4 cup butter, room temperature
- 1-3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup powdered cocoa
- 1/4 cup malted milk powder
- 1-1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1-1/3 cup water
- 1/2 pint whipping cream
- 6 tbsp. powdered sugar
- 6 tbsp. malted milk powder
- Place butter and sugar in bowl.
- Using electric mixer, mix butter and sugar together until mixture is light and creamy.
- Add eggs and vanilla; beat l minute at medium speed.
- Combine flour, cocoa, malted milk powder, baking soda and salt; add alternately with water to butter-egg mixture.
- Pour batter into two buttered and floured 8-inch cake pans.
- Bake at 350 for 35 minutes or until test done.
- Cook and frost.
- Frosting: Whip the cream, then add remaining ingredients slowly.
