Korean Onion Bread
- 1 cup Onion
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese
- 1/2 cup Bacon or Turkey bacon
- 1 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 1/2 tsp Parsley
- 3 pinch Ground black pepper (optional)
- 1/3 cup Canned jalapeno slices (optional)
- 2 cup All purpose flour
- 3/4 cup Lukewarm milk
- 3 tbsp Butter
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 2 tsp Active dry yeast
- 3/4 tsp Salt
- Sift 2 cups of all purpose flour.
- Add 2 tbsp of sugar, 2 tsp of dry active yeast and 3/4 tsp salt.
- Add 3 tbsp butter and 3/4 lukewarm milk.
- Mix everything gently and knead the dough.
- Knead dough for about 10 minutes or until surface of the dough becomes smooth and gets a nice elastic texture.
- Form into a ball and place in a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap.
- Leave in warm place such as an unheated oven with light on.Let dough rise for an hour or until it doubles in size.
- In separate bowl mix remaining ingredients.
- 1/2 cup bacon, 1 cup onion, 1 cup mozzarella cheese and jalapenos for a little kick (optional)
- Add 2 pinches of ground black pepper to mixture.
- Now roll the dough into a 12 x 10 inch rectangle.
- Spread about 2/3 of the onion mixture in the center off the dough.
- Spread out the mixture evenly.
- Fold dough inward from both sides.
- Seal the top by pinching the two sides together with your fingers.
- Place sealed bread in a loaf bread pan.
- Spread 1 tbsp of mayonnaise evenly the top surface of the bread.
- Preheat to 375f
- Sprinkle ground black pepper on top of mayonnaise.
- Put the remaining onion mixture evenly ob top of the bread and sprinkle about 1/2 tsp of parsley
- Bake for 45 minutes at 375f then turn off and finish baking the bread for another 15 minutes
