Korean Onion Bread

  1. Sift 2 cups of all purpose flour.
  2. Add 2 tbsp of sugar, 2 tsp of dry active yeast and 3/4 tsp salt.
  3. Add 3 tbsp butter and 3/4 lukewarm milk.
  4. Mix everything gently and knead the dough.
  5. Knead dough for about 10 minutes or until surface of the dough becomes smooth and gets a nice elastic texture.
  6. Form into a ball and place in a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap.
  7. Leave in warm place such as an unheated oven with light on.Let dough rise for an hour or until it doubles in size.
  8. In separate bowl mix remaining ingredients.
  9. 1/2 cup bacon, 1 cup onion, 1 cup mozzarella cheese and jalapenos for a little kick (optional)
  10. Add 2 pinches of ground black pepper to mixture.
  11. Now roll the dough into a 12 x 10 inch rectangle.
  12. Spread about 2/3 of the onion mixture in the center off the dough.
  13. Spread out the mixture evenly.
  14. Fold dough inward from both sides.
  15. Seal the top by pinching the two sides together with your fingers.
  16. Place sealed bread in a loaf bread pan.
  17. Spread 1 tbsp of mayonnaise evenly the top surface of the bread.
  18. Preheat to 375f
  19. Sprinkle ground black pepper on top of mayonnaise.
  20. Put the remaining onion mixture evenly ob top of the bread and sprinkle about 1/2 tsp of parsley
  21. Bake for 45 minutes at 375f then turn off and finish baking the bread for another 15 minutes
