Caramel-Chocolate Banana Split

  1. Heat oil in large saucepan to 325 degrees F. Meanwhile, combine flour, sugar and baking powder in medium bowl.
  2. Whisk egg and 1/4 cup milk in separate bowl until blended.
  3. Add to flour mixture; whisk until blended.
  4. Place wire rack on paper towel-covered baking sheet; set aside.
  5. Cut each banana lengthwise, then crosswise in half.
  6. Dip 4 banana pieces in batter, turning to evenly coat each piece.
  7. Use slotted spoon to carefully add bananas to hot oil; cook 5 to 6 min.
  8. or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from oil; place on wire rack to drain.
  10. Repeat with remaining banana pieces.
  11. Microwave caramels and remaining milk in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 min.
  12. or until caramels are almost melted; stir until caramels are completely melted and mixture is well blended.
  13. Place 2 banana pieces on each of 4 dessert plates.
  14. Drizzle with caramel, then chocolate.
  15. Top with Cool Whip.
