Caramel-Chocolate Banana Split
- 3 cups oil
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. Magic Baking Powder
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup plus 1 tsp. milk, divided
- 2 bananas
- 4 Kraft Caramels
- 2 oz. Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate, melted
- 1/4 cup thawed Cool Whip Whipped Topping
- Heat oil in large saucepan to 325 degrees F. Meanwhile, combine flour, sugar and baking powder in medium bowl.
- Whisk egg and 1/4 cup milk in separate bowl until blended.
- Add to flour mixture; whisk until blended.
- Place wire rack on paper towel-covered baking sheet; set aside.
- Cut each banana lengthwise, then crosswise in half.
- Dip 4 banana pieces in batter, turning to evenly coat each piece.
- Use slotted spoon to carefully add bananas to hot oil; cook 5 to 6 min.
- or until golden brown.
- Remove from oil; place on wire rack to drain.
- Repeat with remaining banana pieces.
- Microwave caramels and remaining milk in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 min.
- or until caramels are almost melted; stir until caramels are completely melted and mixture is well blended.
- Place 2 banana pieces on each of 4 dessert plates.
- Drizzle with caramel, then chocolate.
- Top with Cool Whip.
