The Lady & Sons Onion-Cheese Bread

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In a small skillet, heat the oil; saute the onions until tender, about 2 minutes.
  3. Combine the milk and egg, and add to the Biscuit Mix along with the sauteed onions and 1/2 cup of the cheese.
  4. Stir only until the dry ingredients are just moistened.
  5. Spread the dough into a greased 8-inch round cake pan.
  6. Stir the onion salt into the butter.
  7. Drizzle this over the dough, and sprinkle with chives or parsley.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes, then sprinkle the dough with the remaining 1/2 cup cheese and return to the oven to bake for 5 minutes longer, or until golden brown.
  9. Cut the bread into wedges and serve hot with butter.
