Hot Apple Rum Cider Recipe
- 2 quarts. unsweetened apple cider
- 1 (6 ounce.) can frzn orange juice concentrate, thawed & undiluted
- 1/4 c. lemon juice
- 1/4 c. honey
- 2 sticks cinnamon
- 1 1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
- 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
- 1 whole nutmeg
- 1 1/4 c. dark rum or possibly brandy
- Cinnamon sticks (opt.)
- Orange slices (opt.)
- Combine first 8 ingredients in a large saucepan; cook over medium heat till thoroughly heated, stirring frequently.
- Reduce heat; simmer 15 min.
- Remove and throw away cinnamon sticks, cloves, coriander seeds, and nutmeg, using a slotted spoon.
- Stir in rum.
- Cook over medium heat till thoroughly heated (don't boil).
- Pour into mugs.
- If you like, garnish with cinnamon sticks and orange slices.
- Extra cider or possibly apple punch can be refrigerated for a week in an air tight container.
