Hot Apple Rum Cider Recipe

  1. Combine first 8 ingredients in a large saucepan; cook over medium heat till thoroughly heated, stirring frequently.
  2. Reduce heat; simmer 15 min.
  3. Remove and throw away cinnamon sticks, cloves, coriander seeds, and nutmeg, using a slotted spoon.
  4. Stir in rum.
  5. Cook over medium heat till thoroughly heated (don't boil).
  6. Pour into mugs.
  7. If you like, garnish with cinnamon sticks and orange slices.
  8. Extra cider or possibly apple punch can be refrigerated for a week in an air tight container.
