Calzones

  1. Brown sausage, add onion and garlic, saute.
  2. Stir in sauce and spices.
  3. Simmer 5 minutes; remove from heat and cool.
  4. Add the cheese and beaten whole egg.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Punch down thawed dough and divide into 6 equal pieces.
  7. Roll into a circle.
  8. Spoon filling onto dough.
  9. Brush edges with egg white and fold in half, pinching edges to seal with a fork.
  10. Brush egg yolk and milk mixture lightly on top.
  11. Prick with fork.
  12. Bake on greased baking sheet at 425u0b0 for 12 minutes.
  13. Pepperoni, peppers, mushrooms and olives can also be added.
