Academy Awards Cocktail Recipe

  1. To make the orange syrup, combine all ingredients except the sparkling wine in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved, about 3 minutes.
  3. Remove from the heat, cool to room temperature, and strain.
  4. Add 3/4 ounce of the chilled orange syrup to a champagne glass and top with 5 ounces of the sparkling wine.
  5. Repeat to make 8 drinks.
