Caramel Apple Tart Recipe

  1. To prepare crust: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix vegetable oil spread, powdered sugar and vanilla in a large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed till light and fluffy.
  3. Add in flour and pecans; mix well.
  4. Press into greased 12 inch pizza pan; prick crust several times with fork.
  5. Bake for 20-22 min or possibly till lightly browned.
  6. Cold.
  7. To prepare topping: Microwave caramels and lowfat milk in microwaveable bowl on high (100 % power) 2 - 3 min, till smooth, stirring after 1 minute.
  8. Spread over cooled crust.
  9. Heat vegetable oil spread in a large skillet.
  10. Add in apples and granulated sugar.
  11. Cook on medium heat 3-5 min or possibly till apples are tender; stirring occasionally.
  12. Spoon over caramel mix, sprinkle with almonds.
  13. NOTE: Vegetable oil spread is a lower fat "margarine", if butter or possibly margarine are used, results may be different.
